This is an unabashed endorsement for a software program I've needed since 1985.
You've landed on this page because your either new to the business or,
you're a pro who wants to see how I handle my caseload.
It doesn't really matter why you're here.
I'm only too happy to tell you about this terrific program and why it's a lifesaver for me.
Those who know me also know that I cannot tell a simple, short, story.
I hope you'll set aside a moment to read my little adventure and understand how
a software program can have such a positive influence in an otherwise tedious profession.
Thus, began my quest.
I first attempted to create a my own database that would replace the monotous form filling, case tracking and form letter writing that was taking me an average of 3 hours per case, start to finish (I type with only two fingers - the other eight refuse to cooperate).
For a short time I fiddled with FILEMAKER PRO (a terrific program) but I just couldn't figure out how to fill in the court forms consistenly.
I tried adapting elements of ACT and GOLDMINE (two very outstanding programs for client contact management) but
had similar difficulties.
So, I gave up.
I continued to use my Brother typewriter but was assisted with my computer for case management and form letters (3 different, non-integrated, programs).
Eventually, through the professional organizations I belong to, I was exposed to some very promising programs. Unfortunately, they were designed for the legal profession and had a few too many bells and whistles, but hey!, at least someone had found a potential solution to my problem!
Or so I thought.
I have a methodology in my approach to working my cases that I can only describe as getting into the "flow" of the work. I need elements to be simple, yet concise. I need to feel comfortable with the tools I'm using and I just wasn't hitting the mark
with the existing programs.
What I needed was a program just for judgment recovery management - nothing else - keep it simple!
As luck would have it, in September of 2003 I was asked to review a new Judgment Recovery Management Software program developed by Blueware Media, Inc. While it had many of the elements I was looking for it still needed to be "tweaked" here and there but, still, it showed promise and was the closest thing to my "Ideal Program" that I had imagined myself creating. Along with a few other professional judgment enforcers I gave them my two cents worth and they scurried back to their cave and worked out the kinks.
In late November 2003 I acquired a working copy of the program designed for Judgment Recovery in California and my professional life was permanently and positively impacted.
To fully appreciate what I am attempting to relate you have to imagine that, during the course of a collection, you need to generate a few form letters, address a few envelopes, fill in several court forms, calculate interest,
and monitor your cases, plus a few other steps, depending on the case.
O.K. - with that scenario in mind can you think of anything more time-consuming yet critical?(No spelling or calculation errors permitted!)
For almost fifteen years I toiled at making sure everything was PERFECT on each and every document.(And still managed to screw one up from time to time.) Average time per case : about 3 hours (remember?)
Now, imagine this scenario: Today I simply input all of my pertinent data regarding a collection (ONCE) into a fully integrated database program designed SPECIFICALLY for the Judgment Recovery Professional.
This takes me all of about twelve minutes!.(Provided of course my typing fingers are cooperating.) Once I'm finished inputting the case information I can print ANY form letter, address an envelope, create my contract, fill out ANY required court form, or calculate interest on a judgment instantly!
There are no "typos", no incorrect case numbers, the court's correct name appears on each document and the whole case is saved into a database which I can access at any time and review when each document was printed.
Suffice it to say, I am a "Happy Camper"!
But don't take my word for it.... download a demo of the software yourself and put it through it's paces.
